Geilo, Great for beginners!

Well, its very cold! Base layers are definitley recommended for this little resort which got to about -25c. We went for a few days last New year although its a bit of a trek to get there its a very chilled out little town. The "mountains" or rather hills are nothing to shout about, no real back country and pretty icy in some places. The village lies between the two hills so its best to explore one one day and move over to the other for the next, but after about 2 days thats it, the interest is gone and probably better to move onto Hemsedal. Don't forget loads of dosh, about £7 for a beer!
