Krylatskoye, Russia

Introduction

Krylatskoye used to be the only OK Moscow's local resort, but not any more. Even though it's only 30 m from the center of the city, the trip is not worth it, because the resort is too small, crowded, and the lifts are ancient. The slopes are short (200-250 m) and often icy. There are also some small natural drop offs and a few hits available. The only reason to go there is to see the place where freestyle snowboarding started in Moscow and every year there is Nescafe "Pure Energy" festival (in February) where you can witness Russian freestylers in action.
