Flumserberg, Switzerland
Introduction
The closest resort to Zurich and likely to be the fastest accessable resort from the UK ! Flumserberg is an East facing resort which is busy at weekends but often deserted during the week. An Impressive fast bubblecar lift from Unterterzen by The Walensee lake takes you to the resort and the first 8 seater chairlift in Switzerland cut down on lift waiting times.
The wide, frequently prepared pistes ideal for beginners and intermediate riders with a good park that has a good selection of rails & kickers. Plenty of tree runs for the pine lovers.
Some good Freeriding to be found on the North Easterly slopes, the best of which is the Terza run at 6km with a vertical drop of 1797 m down to Unterterzen and the Walensee lake.
The views here are more stunning than usual Swiss scenery with the jagged knuckle ridge of the Chur - Firsten mounatin opposite & the Walensee lake in the valley below providing great photo opportunities. The perfect resort for a long weekend.
