Gstaad, Switzerland

Gstaad is part of a massive slope linked area void of the mass holiday groups. What you get here is crowd free snowboarding with miles of backcountry adventures and over 150 well prepared pistes covered by a single lift pass. Welcome to Gstaad, a place where snowboarding comes as second nature and a place that despite its appeal for attracting far too many poncy image junkies with designer eye-wear, is a place that has a good snowboard feel to it and one where you can ride hard. Despite the sad gits that flock here, the area has long allowed snowboarders freedom to roam its slopes, which are split between a number of areas with Gstaad sitting mid-way between them. The areas most favoured by snowboarders are Saanenmoser and Schonried which can be reached without any hassle from Gstaad. Further afield is Les Diablerets which is a glacier that's open in the summer months.
