Badger Pass, USA
Small ski area with a lot of heart
Fri 14 November 2008 roland303Badger Pass is located in Yosemite National Park and just for that it is fairly unique. The irony is that Badger Pass is a small ski area in the middle of a gigantic, scenic park. The contrast is noticeable yet Badger Pass is still a cool little place. Deliberately old school, this place has the feel of a small Austrian mountain, with the requisite hardcore skiers. However, it's pretty friendly for snowboarders and when it dumps, it's a fun little mountain.
Having said that, it should take you about 2-3 hours to totally get your fill, so unless you're already visiting the park, it doesn't make sense to go here. But if you're here and it's winter, come check it out. Yosemite is awesome in the winter and literally like 1/10th of the people.
