Mount Snow-Haystack, USA
Introduction
Mount Snow and Haystack are located in the Green Mountain National Forest, and like many of the east coast resorts within easy reach of major towns and cities, the area sees plenty of weekend ski-dwellers. Mount Snow and Haystack are, in fact, two separate resorts that are not, unfortunately, linked by lifts or snow trails. However, they are only a few minutes apart via the regular shuttle bus operating between the two areas. Collectively, the two areas have some 145 trails that are sold as one when you buy a lift pass.
In the main, the whole place forms a cruisy mountain, best suited to intermediates and novices, with some decent-sized runs and interesting terrain features with hits, rollers, flats and trees. Be warned that at weekends and holiday periods, long lift queues do appear.
