Crystal Mountain, USA

Located mid-way into Washington State, an hour and twenty minutes from Seattle, Crystal is yet another yankee freeride classic, unspoilt by skiers, for riders in the know. The terrain is spread out over four peaks, with an awesome amount of backcountry riding. The resort was taken over in 97 and since then they’ve added new lifts and other modifications.

They’ve finally had their master plan approved so starting in summer 2007 should be the building of a new tram and an additonal lift . Crystal’s already rising profile is bound to increase which may have the adverse effect of bringing in more skiers - presently there is a balanced mix, leaving the slopes crowd-free and lift queues short.
