Complete make-over for Chambéry Savoie Airport
For those flying into Chambéry Savoie Airport this winter they can expect to see a number of changes
- 2 million euros have been invested: the commercial terminal has been completely renovated and the business terminal’s external structure has been redecorated
- A better quality of service for clients and passengers
- A new name, showing close links with the area
- Four new routes this winter: London Stansted, Doncaster, Manchester and Norwich.
- British Airways is also launching a daily flight from London City from 16 December 2016 to 9 January 2017.
On 24 November, 250 guests invited by VINCI Aiports and the Council of Savoie are attending the inauguration of the renovated airport. Thanks to the renovation, the airport will be able to manage passenger flow better during busy winter weekends and offer a higher quality of service:
· The security and customs control area has been reorganised
· The boarding area has been expended and refurbished
· All the check-in points are now equipped with a baggage belt, facilitating baggage management and reducing passenger waiting times
· The duty free shop has been relocated and extended.
· Total renovation of toilets for passenger comfort
· New ergonomically redesigned signage will be installed to improve passenger experience inside the terminal
Already strongly involved in the local economy by bringing 150 million Euros to the area, VINCI Airports has decided to support the international communication strategy of Savoie Mont Blanc Tourisme by renaming the airport Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc airport.
Located in the heart of Savoie Mont Blanc and the French Alps, Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc is definitely the airport for skiers.
Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc airport is only one hour away from Les Arcs, Méribel and Megève, one hour and fifteen minutes from La Plagne, Courchevel and Les Menuires, and less than one hour and thirty minutes from Val d’Isère, Tignes, Val Thorens and many other ski resorts.
As a major actor on the charter ski market, the biggest tour ski operators are present in Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc Airport (Crystal, First Choice, Club Med UK, Hotelplan, Ski Esprit, Ski Total, Inghams, Le Ski).
250 seasonal workers have been trained and are ready to welcome over 200,000 passengers from 10 December, over 20 weekends, between December and April. They all speak excellent English.
