A double helping from Ischgl
A double helping of good news for Ischgl fans: the snowsure ski resort will be opening earlier than ever this winter and in the run up to the ski season Ischgl is coming to London.
Paznaun-Ischgl tourist managers will be at the Telegraph Ski and Snowboard Show in Battersea next month, eager to tell snowsports fans all the latest news from the high-energy Tirolean ski resort.
Andreas Steibl, General Manager of the Paznaun-Ischgl Tourism Association, said:"We are eagerly anticipating the new winter season and keen to meet with British skiers and snowboarders, who are an important sector of our guests.
"The Ski Show is the best place to meet snowsports enthusiasts in the UK and we look forward to meeting old friends and making new ones and thrilling all with news from Ischgl."
The new winter season opens in just under 12 weeks - on Thursday 23 November - and heralds a bumper five-month long season of skiing, boarding and snowsports events by day and luxury accommodation, gourmet dining, wellness and sophistication by night.
Ischgl has chosen German superstars for this winter's traditional Top Of The Mountain opening and closing concerts. Andrea Berg will perform on the open-air stage in the village on Saturday 25 November and Helene Fischer in the natural amphitheatre high in the ski arena on Monday 30 April. Their fresh, edgy sounds catapult them into Ischgl's hall of fame which is headed by such international stars as Robbie Williams, Elton John, Lionel Richie, Mariah Carey and Kylie Minogue.
Travel to Ischgl is easy with flights from Heathrow, Gatwick and a number of regional airports direct to Innsbruck from airlines including BA, easyJet and Monarch, then a 75 minute road transfer.
