Katie Ormerod Wins Pleasure Jam 2015
GB Park and Pipe snowboarder Katie Ormerod has won the Pleasure Jam, which took place this weekend in Dachstein, Austria. Teammate Rowan Coultas finished 10th after qualifying for the finals in 3rd place.
The invitation-only World Snowboard Tour event attracts the best snowboarders in the world, and this win for Katie Ormerod sends a huge signal out to the snowboarding world about her form. After having reconstructive surgery on her knee following an ACL injury in summer 2014, Katie returned to snow this summer and has come back stronger than ever.
Katie qualified for the finals in top position with teammate Rowan qualifying third in the men’s. The finals were run in tricky conditions, but despite the weather challenges, Katie took a huge win with a cab 5 to backside 7. Rowan unfortunately fell in his finals run but still brought home a top 10 result.
