Women-Only Snowboard Retreats from Ticket to Ride
Ex-pro Katie Blundell to host week-long snowboarding retreat in Meribel Sessions run by women for women, with 20 hours’ expert tuition!
Snow and surf specialist Ticket to Ride has launched two brand new Meribel-based snow retreats specifically for women. The week-long trips, for snowboarders or skiers, will focus on improving technique with tailored, daily tuition from some of the industry’s top coaches.
The retreats aim to provide a space for female boarders and skiers to improve their skills and get confident off-piste in a friendly, relaxed environment. The 20 hours of expert coaching make them perfect for women who want to make the most of the limited time they have on the slopes.
The girls-only snowboarding retreat will be led by ex-pro and former O’Neil Team Rider Katie Blundell, with tuition from one of the highest qualified female snowboard instructors in the world, Corinne Mayhew.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun!” said Katie, “but we’re also going to make sure our riders improve like never before. It's never been a better time to try out different styles of boarding, especially since Jenny Jones' Olympic slopestyle success, and I hope this trip will encourage more women to push themselves just that bit further. I am sure they will get a kick out of trying new tricks, landings and generally becoming more confident in the mountains.”
“The prospect of working with Corinne for a week is awesome, and we’re super excited about the itinerary we’ve put together,” she continued.
Both retreats include daily yoga sessions, healthy home cooked meals, chalet accommodation in central Meribel, lift passes and transfers from Geneva airport, plus a goodie bag. Both trips promise to provide a fantastic mountain experience for like-minded women keen to push their skills to the next level.
