Cervinia, Italy

Amazingly friendly resourt

Thu 27 March 2008 FallenRider

OK - so there are some flat bits (which are annoying), the bottom gets a bit slushy at the end of the day (or mid day when the sun is out), and the locals seem to dress like Kieth Chegwin on his Swapshop days - but this has to be one of the friendliest resorts out there. The locals actually want you there - and put themselves out to make sure that you have a good time.

On top of that - the food is great (and cheep - even on the mountain) - as long as you stay on the Italian side, the beer and wine are wonderful and the hotels cheep and plentiful.

Head up to the top of the mountain and you have a massive run back into town - with loads of options as to which way to go. You can even go down the MASSIVE wide red runs into Zermat which are wonderful.

Even on a busy day - the slopes dont get too full and the wait for the lifts (at least above town) aren't too long.

Great place - cant recommend it enough.
