Jiminy Peak, USA

New for season

Four new trails, two improved trails, plus a new terrain park and half pipe will be ready to ski and ride this upcoming ski and snowboard season at Jiminy Peak.

Round-about runs east from the top of the Berkshire Express as skiers and riders disembark the lift. It slides around Glider and exits into Easy Does It. Outback runs southwest off the top of the Berkshire Express. It runs behind the newly widened West Way Chute, and Azalea Path then back into West Way across from Lower Glade. These trails ease the way to Left Bank and West Way.

A novice trail called Raccoon’s Den has been cut from the bottom of Willie’s Gulch and runs out to 360. Grouse Run is the trail that runs along the mountainside homes from the bottom of Widow White’s Quad to the base area. Previously closed to the public, it will be open this season and it will provide an alternate route to the base from Left Bank.

The trees have been cleared from Riptide and Willie’s Gulch and they have been made into intermediate trails. Snowmaking has been installed on these trails as well.

A commitment has been made to expand and enhance our terrain parks and half pipe. A consultant was brought in to assist on the creation of a new terrain park and half pipe on the Ace of Spades for the upcoming 2004/2005 season. The snowmaking has been expanded on the trail so that elements can be built side to side and the park should be able to open fairly early early in the season. In conjunction with this expansion the Grand Slam double chairlift will run most twilight periods as well as weekends and holiday periods for easier access to the Ace of Spades.
