Own it 2012 - Aberdeen Ski Centre
This event organised by Aberdeen Snowsports Club will see some of Scotland’s top young riders battle it out in a classic slopestyle competition featuring a Big Air element over a kicker, quarter pipe session and rail lines.
The only competition in Scotland to include all three elements of Slopestyle this is recognised by Snowsport Scotland as one of the main stops on the freestyle circuit.
Around 50 skiers and boarders are expected to enter and the event is supported by Aberdeen Snowsports Centre, Treeline Chalets, Planks Clothing, Craigdon Mountain Sports, Frontside Backside, Granite Reef and Westbeach.
The last dry slope competition of the year before attention turns to the hills organisers are confident of a big turn out.
Aberdeen Snowsports Club Chair Neil Cameron said, “Own It was the original event on the Scottish Freestyle scene. This year we are taking it back to its roots with a kicker, quarter and rail element to it. The standard of riding is increasing at each comp and we can see our youngsters going bigger and better each time. The event will be huge”.
