The search for snowboarding future stars is starting again!

While the North is in the middle of the summer break, the Black Yeti is on his way to the Southern Hemisphere to kick off the World Rookie Tour 2013/14 in South America. The new season will start with the 2013 Mall Sport South America Rookie Fest from 16th to 20th August 2013, in Valle Nevado,Chile.

For the fourth time, the Chilean top quality ski resort Valle Nevado will host the event for the most promising future snowboarding talents in South America. As in the past edition, this event will offer an incredible program including a slopestyle contest, freeride trip with pros and a visit in the capital city of Santiago for skate and surf sessions. Friday 16th: Arrical of Rookies in Chile

Saturday 17th: Training day

Sunday 18th: Slopestyle contest

Monday 19th: Powder day

Tuesday 20th: Skate day & Wavehouse Mall Sport Santiago


The top 2 riders of the event will be invited for free to the next winter’s season World Rookie Fest in Livigno, Italy. All podium riders from both rookie and grom, boys and girls, will be qualified for the 2014 World Rookie Finals in Ischgl.

Age Groups

WSF rookie events are reserved to Rookies (born from 1st of January 1996 to 31st of December 1998) and Grom (born from 1st of January 1999 and up), both boys and girls. All contests of the World Rookie Tour will generate valuable results for the TTR World Snowboard Tour Ranks and for the World Rookie Rank developed by World Snowboard Federation.
