Montgenevre, France

Freeriding

Freeriders can cut decent off-piste powder and ride some nice tree lines, although you wont find it much of a great challenge. The trails on Le Chalvet, located in what tends to be the quietest area to ride, give access to some cool freeride terrain and there's even a nice big powder bowl.

There are some good value heliboarding options that drop you in nearby Italy once youve exhausted everything locally.

Freestylers

Freestylers are presented with what they call a funpark, but in truth it is a dire pipe, with only a few manmade hits. The best option for air is to seek out the natural terrain features.

Pistes

PISTES: Youll find some good carving trails on Les Anges and Le Querelay, which are both popular and easy. The two blacks down the Pian del Sole en route to the village of Claviere, are a little more interesting and worth a blast.

Beginners

Beginners are well catered for here, with a host of easy trails that can be reached (having first studied the piste map), without needing to ride a drag lift. Fast learners will soon be able to ride from the summit of Les Anges to the base, via a mixture of blue and green trails.
