Supported by long-time partner Swatch, the Freeride World Tour enters its fifth season solidifying its position at the very top of competitive Freeriding. The opening event takes place on the 21- 27 January 2012 in Chamonix France with the following
disciplines: Men's and Women's Ski and Snowboard.

Competitive Freeriding has evolved rapidly over the last four seasons with the pros spinning, cliff-jumping and stomping with an ever increasing intensity. We're expecting to see further progression in 2012 as the experienced big mountain riders compete against a new wave of young talent

Chamonix offers some truly excellent freeriding and great natural freestyle terrain. It's not great for beginners and can suffer if there's not much snow. It's rough round the edges - but therein lies its charm. If you can, wait until there's fresh snow then jump in your car.

Freeriding: 95% - Tree runs & amazing off-piste
Freestyle: 70% - Half-pipe but great natural
Pistes: 60% - Spread out & ungroomed slopes
