Perfect pistes have greeted festive skiers and boarders in Ischgl this week, with the Tirolean resort boasting some of the best snow conditions in the Austrian Alps.

“Ischgl has some of the best cover of any non-glacial resort in Austria at the moment,” said one of the editors of digital ski publication WeLove2Ski, who chose Ischgl for his family Christmas break.
“Perfect packed snow and not a pebble or a patch in sight. All valley runs open with good cover. And we’ve had a 5-10cm top up, too. Ischgl pistes are perfect.”
The ski hub of Idalp has a 40cm snow base and the resort’s 1100 snow cannons and skilled grooming are keeping the pistes in great shape.

Usually Spain is associated with sun, summer and heat. And it is true, but we must not forget that the winter in Spain also offers, thanks to its fortunate geography, long months of fun to thousands of Spanish skiers and others whom come from abroad.
“Ischgl has plenty of good wide intermediate slopes, and hidden off-piste stashes. A super fast lift system, a season that lasts until May, great terrain park, and the most full on apres in the Alps, completes the package.”
