SNOWBOMBING 2016 ANNOUNCES SECOND WAVE OF ACTS
Snowbombing - the world’s No.1 music festival on snow - has released the second wave of its 2016 lineup featuring an avalanche of incredible DJs and live acts. Snowbombing 2016 just gets better and better!
Joining The Prodigy, Jungle and Netsky on the live side - who’s last album, Bad Blood became the most downloaded album of 2013 - are Brit-award winning indie-pop maestros Bastille who will be headlining the legendary Forest Party on the Thursday.
Said lead singer Dan Smith: “We can't wait to head to the mountains for Snowbombing 2016. The lineup looks great and it's a festival we've always wanted to go to.
“Playing a gig and hanging out in the Alps... it’s going to be awesome!”
Boosting the already phenomenal DJ line-up and taking the party scene by storm is platinum album-selling Craig David! Fifteen years on from his debut album ‘Born to Do It’, the UK Garage hero has been making waves on the dance scene once again, with his weekly TS5 radio show on Capital Xtra, a knock-out carnival show performing alongside Skrillex and Sean Paul, not to mention a much-talked about appearance on Kurupt FM where he laid down an outstanding a cappella of Fill Me In over Jack Ü’s Where Are Ü Now. Joining him at the top of the DJ bill is Hot Creations label head and Paradise founder Jamie Jones plus multi-platinum selling producer and all-round legend Mark Ronson DJ, who’s Uptown Funk single and Uptown Special album saw him score his first UK charts number 1 double in 2015. The multitalented musician, singer, songwriter and producer will make a welcoming return to Snowbombing 2016 for a much-anticipated DJ set.
Also hitting the bill is German ‘Super House’ duo Andhim, house experimentalist Andrea Oliva, Mobilee Records boss Anja Schneider, house & techno rebel Danny Daze and American duo The Martinez Brothers who have held a hugely successful residency at DC-10 in Ibiza since 2011.
Other acts joining the mix is home-grown hero Jackmaster famous for spreading unashamedly full-on party sounds to dance floors all over the world, Grammy nominated Nic Fanciulli, French electronica inspiration Rodriguez Jr. and Berlin house veteran Sebo K.
Representing from BBC Radio 1 is hip-hop and grime master MistaJam and renowned DJ, producer and remixer B-Traits.
Heading back to Snowbombing for his second stint behind the decks is superstar of sound and screen, the irrepressible Mr. Idris Elba who proved to be a smash at last year’s festival.
With many, many more acts and attractions just added to the bill and still more to be announced 2016 is shaping up to be the greatest Snowbombing of all time!
Nestled in a breath-taking alpine setting with snow-capped vistas to die for, Snowbombing which this year takes place between 4–9 April 2016, boasts the most awe-inspiring festival venues in the world from a mountaintop igloo 6,000 feet above sea level to enchanted forest clearings, cosy alpine lodges and atmospheric medieval barns not to mention the plethora of bars, clubs, dives and speakeasys. Last year saw the reintroduction of the legendary Bruck N Stadl, a traditional Austrian wooden ‘haus’ equipped with an enormous Funktion-One sound-system that in its time has hosted the very cream of the house and techno scene.
In celebration of the SB16 launch, the now legendary annual Snowbombing Party Series has also kicked off its tour of the UK and Europe’s most esteemed nightspots. Each weekend a city will come alive with a Snowbombing club show featuring some of the biggest names in the music industry including Basement Jaxx, 2 ManyDJs, Jackmaster and more.
