Loveland , USA
Lovelands is a resort that has a reputation for good snow, a long season, and a claim to have the worlds highest quad chair lift which lets you off at an elevation of 3871 metres. Located close to Denver, is definitely a place that is worth a visit and a great one for day trippers, especially for the city slickers from Denver. Despite being close to Denver, however, overcrowding is not a problem and both the lift lines and pistes are often deserted.
The resort has recently been investing a lot of dollars in expanding the terrain with the addition of another 400 acres of extreme slopes at the area known as the Ridge. A lot of money has also been spent on upgrading the snowmaking facilities to help boost the snowcover. Loveland is not the biggest hill in Colorado, but what you get is more than adequate and there are certainly smaller places than this one. What you have is a ridable area that stretches up from two points, Loveland Valley and Loveland Basin that are linked by chairlift and road.
Loveland Valley is the smaller of the two areas with a cluster of runs that rise up through some thick wooded glade's that eventually thin out the further up you go. Loveland Basin, whos slopes stretched out around a high bowl above the entrance to the Eisenhower Tunnel, is the main area to ride with a good choice of runs from basic intermediate trails to some hardcore extreme runs with a few double black diamond extreme slopes.
