#Revelstoked! Ever heard of the phrase “trees for days”? Pretty sure they were talking about Revelstoke. So much gladed riding, from wide open glades to tight glades with cliffs to navigate around, you could spend 3 days just riding the trees.
Revelstoke Mountain Resort is modest in size boasting 1,263 hectares, 1,713 vertical metres (the most in North America), 4 alpine bowls and 65 runs. Revelstoke has a big reputation for light powder, steep terrain and small lift lines despite there are only 5 lifts (1 gondola, 2 magic carpets and 2 chairs). Like any resort, Revelstoke is much busier in the holiday periods. You’ll probably be only lapping the two chairs though, aptly named The Stoke and The Ripper. From these two chairs you can access groomers, park, glades and steeps.

The small town of Revelstoke is 6km (10 minute car ride) from the base of the mountain and is where the majority of people stay and eat. It has a certain charm to it, with a couple of blocks serving as the town centre with a handful of restaurants, cafes, shops and hotels. The Sutton Place Hotel at the base of the mountain provides rental, retail, tickets, cafes, parking and ski lockers for those driving or getting a shuttle in.
Revelstoke also boasts to be the only resort offering inbounds riding, cat-boarding and heli-boarding all from one base. Although there are a few operators in the area, heli-boarding can be done with Selkirk Tangiers for around CA$1000 and cat-boarding through RMR for around $500. However, a lot of their terrain can be accessed as slackcountry from the resort. Strongly recommended is K3 Catski for around $550.
