Sunshine Village, Canada

Sunshine and Goat's Eye Mountain are amongst the oldest resorts in Alberta and are the best places in the Banff area for deep snow. The area receives serious amounts of snowfall every year and is a good alternative to its neighbouring resort, Lake Louise.

From the car park, the high-speed 8-man Gondola takes you up to the Sunshine Village base area and offers you the chance to get out at Goat's Eye Mountain, which is where most of the hardcore riding is found - including some severely steep, double black diamond runs such as the Wild Side, Hell's Kitchen and Freefall. Two areas are accessed form Sunshine Village; Mt Standish and Lookout Mountain, although most of the runs on Mt Standish are annoyingly short, especially when the resort's busy.

Lookout Mountain has longer runs, a park and also the resort's overall highlight, Delirium Dive, which is great, but definitely for nutters only.
