World Snowboard Guide 11th edition

Sun Peaks, Canada

Introduction

Sun Peaks is a resort situated about 40 miles from Kamloops, in the interior of the Rockies, and this is a resort that has definitely come of age. Over the past few years, huge expansion plans have been put into operation with fast, modern lifts and massive changes to the layout and structure of the village. The overall result is a damn fine mountain to ride that is not overpopulated with holiday masses. It's a big resort with a large vertical descent. The marked-out terrain isn’t super-varied, but what is on offer is still good and well prepared, with riding to suit all levels and styles.

New for season

2006/7: $4million in total being spent. New Quad Chairlift on Tod Mountain, New Umbrella Bar, 4 new runs on lower Orient Ridge. Expanpsion of Terrain Parks adding more easy features, new Park Bully, new kids area.
