Les Deux Alpes ranks amongst France’s biggest and most friendly resorts. Not just friendly, but snowboard-friendly. The resort has plenty of testing and rider-friendly terrain, and an excellent terrain park. The pistes are big and wide, pretty featureless, but great for beginners and intermediates.
As a glacial resort, when other areas are suffering from a lack of the white stuff, Les Deux Alpes has no such problem although the lower slopes can get pretty icy. Once freeriders have exhausted the local area, and if you’ve got the guts, you can hike or snowcat and drop into neighbouring resort La Grave.
A great time to visit this place is summer, as the glacier allows for some fine summer riding in T-shirts, plus there’s a huge array of jumps and rails, not to mention 2 half-pipes. A lot of camps are held here in June and July, with camp programmes mainly aimed at freestylers.
