From Lyon take the E70/A48 motorway to Grenoble. Take Exit 8 (Briançon) onto the RN91, take the D213, exit at Chambon Dam to Deux Alps. (Drive time is about 2.5 hours, 170km)

Decent all-year, all-style resort, with some great carving terrain and good off-piste, but the place can be hellishly busy at weekends and over holidays.
