Zakopane, Poland

Travel by carDriving directions

What a shit road. There’s one road in from the north and at weekends and holidays it’s packed. There’s a new four lane road being built with EU money but it wont be finished until 2008/9.

Krakow 100km is the closest airport in Poland, the drive to resort can take anything from two to four hours depending on the traffic. Poprad 70km in Slovakia is the closest airport but what with the hassle of taking a car through the boarder crossings you’re better off flying into Krakow

Travel by trainBy train

Many trains daily between Zalopane and Krakow. It takes 4 hours and watch out for pic-pockets.
