The first peaks are covered with snow and the days are counted! From October 12th – 14th, with the 33rd Version of the legendary KAUNERTAL OPENING, Europe’s most renowned Snowpark Opening event the Kaunertal is starting into the new Snowpark Season 2018! Not without a reason the “KTO” is known as THE PLACE TO BE for the whole scene as the most traditional of it’s kind.

As the HIGHLIGHT of the 2018 KTO we would like to announce the kick-off into the NEW SNOWPARK ERA at the Kaunertal Glacier, with the biggest pre-season Snowpark in Europe! The Snowpark Kaunertal will move to a new location based at the Karlesjochbahn (gondola) where it shines in it’s new glory! 

The new Park a.k.a. “The Nature Run” will literally melt together with the surrounding terrain and leads the rider through different park sections with different subjects. From creative “sidehit-like” jumps and “transitions” over “jib” + rail-lines á la skate-style up to traditional Kicker Lines the promising terrain around the Karlesjochbahn will offer more possibilities than you’ve ever dreamed of. Park enthusiasts of all different riding levels will find the perfect line and the full satisfaction in this new park, which is even bigger and better than the famous “Half Mile Jib Line” from the last years Openings!

THE KTO PROGRAM

As usual the KTO is offering a diversified program on- and off-snow for everyone that combines SPORTS, LIFESTYLE and PARTY perfectly!

The MEGA TESTIVAL by Blue Tomato invites directly at the gondola to test the newest equipment from more than 50 brands for free.

Right next to the Testival the JIB’N’SKATE PLAYGROUND – placed at the end of the new Snowpark – is building the base of the KTO on the mountain. The whole weekend long different and chilled open SESSIONS are going down here, where it’s all about fun and shredding together! On top the best tricks will win some nice prices, cash or one of the 6 demanded Wildcards for the for the first KTO Invitational Night Rail Jam on Saturday at the STREETPARTY in the valley. Everybody is welcome to join – registration is FOR FREE and right on site!

Traditionally the first battles of the season are going down at the Kaunertal Opening ever since. International Feeski and Snowboard stars can be watched during the PRO CONTEST on Saturday when they are fighting for 8000€ price money! The open AMATEUR CONTEST on Sunday is the perfect chance for all the other riders to proof their skills, collect some contest experiences and to win some sick prices! Registration is possible for everyone online or on site! 

BESIDES THAT there are various SIDE EVENTS like Miniramp, Pumptrack, Balance Board  Park, Snowboard Museum, Chill Area, Live Music & Entertainment as well as different WORKSHOPS
(LVS Workshop, Splitboard Workshop, Girls Coaching und Mental Coaching) for everyone during the whole weekend!

Oh Yes! To worthy inaugurate the new Snowpark: On Saturday, 3 pm every visitor is invited to join the common “GUNFIRE RUN presented by Stance” through the new Snowpark and to catch his free pair of Stance socks!

…IN THE VALLEY:

Right after a perfect day on the mountain the spectacle continues down in the valley on FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. Beginning with the free AFTER RIDE STREETPARTY in the middle of beautiful
Feichten on the closed main road where a varied program with DJ’s, Streetfood & -drinks and Sessions will heat up the young evening for later.

FRIDAY the premiere of the Blue Tomato REBUILDTHECITY SKATE JAM will take place – open for everyone!

SATURDAY the Snowpark Kaunertal and the best Rail Riders are coming down in the valley with the first ever KTO INVITATIONAL NIGHT RAIL JAM powered by Sessions. Right afterwards the party continues with the CLUB CIRCLE in 3 different chosen locations with a broad and sick DJ- and live Line-up with Hip Hop, Rap, Reggae and Drum & Bass Beats according to the slogan „3 CLUBS – 15 ARTISTS – 1 TICKET“ in good old KTO manner all night long.
