Livigno steals the limelight in Italy next week as the Burn River Jump returns to the slopes, and streets, from the 22nd to the 25th of February 2011. Now in its fifth year of organisation by world renowned Burton Snowboards and with a TTR 5* Ranking and a generous prize purse of 50,000USD, the event has firmly established itself in the ‘must see’ section of this year’s European winter events calendar.

Through its course design and location, the Burn River Jump is a unique combination of snowboarding and creativity. Attracting the elite in Italian and European snowboarders, all keen to compete on such an innovative set up, it guarantees the highest standard of competition and is a showcase of professional freestyle performances through a tough competitive format.

Burn is proud to hold title sponsorship for the second year at such a prestigious and individual event as the River Jump, continuing Burn’s commitment of pushing snowboarding to new heights through innovative platforms.

Due to its popularity, the contest is composed of two scheduled events, both holding a TTR 5* title. The Brux Slopestyle, the first of the two, will feature 90 of Europe’s finest snowboarders compete in a jam format, ending with a best-of-3-runs finale in Italy’s premium Snowpark, the Swatch Mottolino Snowpark. Afterwards, the top 10 will go through to Friday’s climax, the Burn River Jump.

Friday 25th February: Situated in the heart of Livigno town, the Spoel River is the setting for an unmissable demonstration of professional snowboarding and unparalleled course design at its best, as the 10 finalists from the Brux Slopestyle join 10 wildcards featuring Burn riders Giorgio Ciancaleoni (ITA), Marco Grigis (ITA) for the Semi Finals of the Burn River Jump 2011. The top 6 will charge on to meet 10 of the world’s best invited snowboarders, including Burn Elite Team riders Arthur Longo and Staale Sandbech in a night-time battle for the chance to win TTR points, a slice of the $50,000 cash prize and the sought-after title of ‘World River Jump Champion’.

Other Burn riders such as Ciprian Popescu (ROM), Kinda Geza (ROM), Tudor Cristea (ROM, David Liptay (HUN), Noa Gadelius (SWE) and Blayze Bramwell (SWE) will also be demonstrating their outstanding freestyle skills at the event, plus check out all the happenings in the centre as Burn hits the streets of Livigno in style. As the Italians would say ‘‘il grande evento di snowboard è tornato’, ‘The big snowboard event is BACK!’
