Fun Mountain now presents for the 2012 season the brand new “Mottolino Freeride

The perfect day for a freestyler is split between riding the snowpark and shredding powder and Mottolino knows it well and that's why it's introducing this new project for backcountry riding.
You will have the chance to discover Vallaccia which is the most famous
backcountry area in Livigno with the support of 4 guides, headed by Marco Confortola who
has climbed K2 eight times the Earth's second highest and arguably the most difficult peak.
Safety equipment will be provided for each participant and if you are lucky enough on
snow conditions, you will have the chance to shred the infamous fresh powder line of
Marco Simoncelli, a rider, a skier and first of all, a friend of the Mottolino crew.
Located in one of the most beautiful ski alpine areas, Livigno is often named "The Little
Tibet” because of it's epic snow fall and perfect temperatures giving nothing short of
heavenly conditions for backcountry.

Powder for all levels, from easy to extreme
For those who want to take on backcountry for the first time: easy off-piste lines with the
support and the expertise of the guides. Discovering snow consistency and avalanche
equipment is the first step to the backcountry world.
When: saturday and Tuesday at 9:00 am
Price for each participant: 40 €
Entry level for skiers, telemarkers and snowboarders: over three hours of freeriding using
lifts and searching for the best powder with our expert guides. Difficulty: beginner to
WHEN: Saturday 14:00
Sunday 9:00 and 14:00
Other days on request.
Price for each participant: 55.00 euro
A real powder day outside the ski area where short hikes can be necessary to reach the
summits. During the off-piste you will receive lessons about off piste skiing techniques,
safety, and self-rescue.
When: Thursday at 9.00 or other days on request.
Price for each participant: 80 €
Freeride advanced (on request)
The backcountry is one of the most exiting activities but also one of the most dangerous
for those who aren't properly prepared. It's necessary to learn about the environment,
snow conditions, personal safety and avalanche equipment. You will learn all you need
with the support of our expert guides.
-Learning and improvement of powder skiing techniques.
- Self-Rescue instructions.
- knowledge of snow conditions and avalanche risks.
