Mt.Tomamu, Japan
Tomamu have created a resort that caters for all kinds of snowboarders; from the families with little rippers wearing over-sized helmets to the ultimate powder seekers and the park rats. Its central-Hokkaido location means the powder is super dry and the snow stays in great shape for many days with the help of the cold climate. The main resort is spread over two peaks with ten different lifts accessing a good variety of terrain options. Unlike most Japanese resorts, Tomamu allows tree riding and provides good off-piste tours plus some great backcountry guiding services including Cat and Heli boarding. It has a worthy terrain park and halfpipe, and some great feature areas for children (or even us big kids). There aren't many resorts around the world that can boast these arrays of options. One of the only down sides to Tomamu is the rather slow double and single chair lifts that access the bowl area and the terrain park.
