The Alps oldest park opening event throws a massive birthday party!
For the 30th time the Snowpark Opening takes place at the Kaunertal Glacier. For three decades now, the KTO is seen as the first get together for freestyle snowboarders. The chill and fun spirit of the opening and it´s diverse program brings athletes and guests from all parts of the world to the glacier for a season kick off celebration. Contest and culture, festival and testival and many attractive side events create the setting for a perfect first weekend back on snow.
In cooperation with Blue Tomato, as the main sponsor, the 30th KTO jubilee edition will be celebrated with style containing loads of highlights. Vibes from the first KTO will be back at the snowpark at the innovative Amateur Contest. Jung athletes buddy up with legend riders form back in the days to show what can arise, when style and ambition from two generations emerge. Air & Style winner Marco Grilic, Sani Alibabic as well as the Ästethiker crew and friends have once again been invited to throw themselves down the Snowpark Kaunertal at the GOPRO Legends Ridersclash. The invitational Pro Contest welcomes a strong international rider field that battles over a prize money of 6000 Euro.
A Green and safe way to get to the glacier is provided by VVT SmartRide. The free shuttle service operates on all three days of the opening where a perfectly shaped open park and a broad variety of
different session formats and side events is awaiting the snow stoked crowd. The Blue Tomato Testival 3.0 found it´s way back to the KTO and offers the latest gear of the season for free testing over the weekend. Qualified staff will support the freeski- and snowboard clientele in finding the perfect equipment for the
upcoming season.
The absolute highlight of KTOs Birthday Fest will be the two day Music Festival in Feichten. One of the most promising bands in the german speaking area will be rocking the stage. The extraordinary band BILDERBUCH will be welcomed on stage, as well as fife other top acts. Hip Hop Legends like the Beginner Soundsystem (Denyo&Mad), the Wax Wreckaz and many more guarantee two legendary Festival nights on the mountainside in the valley, framed by the latest movie premieres arisen from the freeski- and
snowboard scene.
