30 Days of Snowsport is attracting big numbers!
Snowsport England’s ‘30 Days of Snowsport’ events continue to attract big numbers at slopes across the country.
Snowsport England’s ’30 Days of Snowsport’ initiative is getting close to the halfway mark, and already the events at slopes across the country that form part of the programme have attracted some big numbers, with many visitors trying skiing or snowboarding for the first time.
This Sunday (5 October) saw around 250 people attending the Open Day at Pendle Ski Club in Lancashire, with 134 people taking advantage of the free TRY ski or snowboard sessions, with over 100 of those being children.
Mark Feneley, Pendle Ski Club Chairman said of the event: “We have had a fantastic day, it was great to see so many new faces here at the club. It was a privilege to give people an opportunity to ski or snowboard for the first time in beautiful surroundings and we look forward to welcoming them back throughout the season"
Just the day before (4 October) at Snozone, Milton Keynes, four-time Olympian and GO SKI GO BOARD ambassador Chemmy Alcott made a guest appearance at their ‘Oktoberfest’ event, giving out tips to young skiers on the slope before putting on a show for the visitors as she skied in her dirndl, a traditional Austrian outfit.
