An inspiring weekend for British Ski and Snowboard
GB Park and Pipe athletes showed that they are amongst the best riders in the world with 8 top 12 places over the past few days.
On Friday James ‘Woodsy’ Woods put down two impressive runs to take 4th place at the Slopestyle World Cup in Silvaplana. This meant he finished 4th overall in the Slopestyle World Cup standings. Fresh from the Youth Olympics, 17 year old Cal Sandieson finished 25th in his first ever Slopestyle World Cup. In the ladies competition Izzy Atkin finished in 8th place after qualifying in an amazing second place earlier in the day. Katie Summerhayes finished 10th overall just missing out on finals due to a bit over shoot, and our youngest team member Madi Rowlands, inher World Cup debut, finishing 12th place.
Over in the USA at the Burton US Open, Katie Ormerod took a fantastic 5th place performing a Cab 9, Front 3 and Back 7 in the 16 girl Superfinal after qualifiers were cancelled Jamie Anderson took the win amongst a world-class field.
Over in Austria, Henry Shackleton was top of the podium at the Shred Down Austrian Masters, with GB Park and Pipe teammate Jamie Trinder finishing in third. Just behind them was Matt McCormick who narrowly missed out on the podium.
Rowan Coultas and Fin Bremner were in Saint Lary in the French Pyrenees for the Poney Sessions today with Rowan finishing in 4th and Fin in 9th.
This week sees the GB Park and Pipe halfpipe skiers compete in the Halfpipe World Cup in Tignes, France. Murray Buchan, Pete Speight and James Machon compete on Wednesday for the men, and Rowan Cheshire and Madi Rowlands compete on Thursday in the ladies competition.
Aimee Fuller and Katie Ormerod are in China for the World Championships of Snowboarding. Yabuli International Ski Resort will host the World Snowboard Federation event. The action kicks off on Wednesday.

In the Moena, Italy, SBX FIS races, Maisie Potter finished an impressive 3rd place after winning four intense heats including a semi-final rerun.
