Burton European Open Announces Slopestyle Course!
In just a few weeks, the 15th annual Burton European Open presented by MINI will be held for the 10th consecutive year in LAAX, Switzerland from January 13 – 19, 2014.
Event anticipation is rising for riders and spectators alike, as both halfpipe and slopestyle competitions will attract pro-riders, amateurs and juniors from around the world to battle it out for a share of the US$ 125.000 prize-money and valuable 6Star TTR points. Christian Haller (SUI); Peetu Piiroinen (FIN) and Enni Rukajärvi (FIN) are confirmed to attend and many more will follow.

This year the event features a brand-new slopestyle course which was moved to Crap Sogn Gion right by the halfpipe. Around 600 m long in direction to Curnius, the slopestyle course will be more spacious than ever before with the upper part of the course offeringoptions for various lines on the rail features, wallrides and more, before going into the triple kicker.
Enni Rukajärvi is especially excited about this year’s slopestyle competition, since the BEO is her last stop leading up to the Olympics, where slopestyle is a new discipline for the very first time. The Finnish slopestyle queen conquered the BEO by storm when she first competed at the event in 2010 – starting in the pre-qualification and leaving as the slopestyle winner. And a favourite for the world-class halfpipe event is Christian Haller. He has competed at the BEO for the past 10 years, starting in 2004 when he won the BEO Halfpipe Junior Jam and 2006 where he earned the BEO Slopestyle Junior Jam title. With Peetu Piiroinen another regular at podiums across the world will compete at the most prestigious snowboarding event in Europe. The World Snowboard Tour Champion and Olympian won already five BEO titles in the past in both Slopestyle and Halfpipe.
