Buttermilk closing day celebrates BACON!
Buttermilk’s Closing Weekend Events include Bacon Appreciation Day, Smith Optics Grudge Match Rail Jam and the Bacon Bartender's Brawl.
Buttermilk closing day celebrates BACON with Bacon Appreciation Day for the fourth year in a row. The 4th Annual Bacon Appreciation Day, featuring bacon snacks and samples all day long, including bacon waffles, bacon samples, sundaes with bacon sprinkles and a bacon and beer happy hour, will take place on closing day, Sunday, April 6. The day culminates with the Smith Optics Grudgematch at the base at 2:30 p.m., then the Bacon Bartender's Brawl.
Buttermilk will host the Smith Optics Grudge Match Rail Jam this Sunday, closing day. The Rail Jam will take place at the rail garden at Buttermilk from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Practice for athletes is from 2 - 2:30 p.m. The format is a head to head bracket style snowboard competition and the winner will take home $1000 and the top four will take home Smith gear. Sunday, April 6 – Bacon Appreciation Day and Buttermilk Rail Jam
9:00 a.m. – Bacon Waffles at the Summit (top of Summit Express)
11:30 a.m. – Bacon Samplers around the mountain at Bottom of West, Main, Tiehack lifts, No Problem Cabin and Patrol Headquarters
12:30 p.m. - Bacon wrapped scallops at Patrol Headquarters
Lunch hour – Bacon specials at Cliffhouse and Bumps restaurants
2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. – Smith Optics Grudge Match Rail Jam
2:30 p.m. – Bacon dessert at the Beach at Bumps; Bacon & Beer Happy hour at Bumps
3:30 p.m. - Kid's games in the Base Area
4:00 p.m. – Bartender’s Brawl – Aspen Skiing Company bartenders duke it out to make the best bacon inspired cocktail. Purchase 5 tickets to sample each drink (5 bartenders) for $15 and vote for your favorite
**Cost associated with lunches, Happy Hour and Bartenders Brawl. All other bacon items are free – while supplies last.
