British Ski and Snowboard athletes have been busy over the past few weeks, with many of the Alpine skiers training and racing in New Zealand and South America. The GB Park and Pipe team have been making the most of the good conditions in Australia, with some of the squad recently arriving in New Zealand for the start of the Cardrona Games.

Delancey British Alpine Team athlete Charlie Guest took a podium spot as she finished 3^rd in the Coronet Peak Slalom ANC race last weekend, improving on her 4^th place performance at the National Championships also in Coronet Peak last month.

Teammate Jess Anderson also had a strong race in the Coronet Peak ANC Giant Slalom, improving upon her GS PB she set last month at the Coronet Peak National Championships.

This week Roy Steudle will be racing in La Parva SAC and Jess Anderson, Abi Bruce and Fraser Middleton in Mt Hutt at the ANC/FIS/National Championship speed races. Moving to next week we will see more Alpine racing with Roy Steudle and Yasmin Cooper competing in the El Colorado SAC in Chile.

The GB Park and Pipe team will be out in force at the Cardrona Games in New Zealand, which kicks off this weekend and runs until 16^th September.

They will be up against a strong international field in both ski and snowboard slopestyle and halfpipe competitions, which are jointly sanctioned as FIS Continental Cups and AFP (Association of Freeskiing Professionals) Silver level or World Snowboard Tour National level events.

For GB Park and Pipe, Rowan Cheshire and Pete Speight will tackle the Ski Halfpipe, with Woodsy leading the charge for the Slopestyle skiers. He will be joined by Tyler Harding, Joe Hides, Cal Sandieson, Felix Klein and Sissy Herant.

For snowboard it will be Jamie Trinder and Ayla Thidling representing in Slopestyle on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. For more information visit www.snowsports.co.nz

British Aerials skier Lloyd Wallace has also been training hard this summer, this time in Europe, competing in the Worldmasters Water-Ramp Championships in Switzerland where he came 12^th. He will now move on to the FIS Water-Ramp Competition in Minsk on 17^th September. The water-ramp competitions play an important part in the progression of Aerials skiers and is great preparation for the winter season.

With just one more round left to release in GB Park and Pipe’s domestic Snowsports league, Championship Ski and Snowboard (CSS), Hemel and Bearsden are currently the top two clubs battling it out for top spot in both the Ski and Snowboard league.
