To improve the on-mountain trails for snowboarders, Crested Butte Mountain Resort will remove trees in the East River lift area to widen the space on tree runs for those who enjoy tree riding. The area of focus will be between the current trails of Double Top and Black Eagle. Crews will begin work in late summer to create an optimal intermediate tree skiing area.

The crews will also be cutting three new child-specific trails in the Painter Boy area. These trails will be about the width of a grooming machine and wind through the trees to give kids a “forest-like” experience. Ski School guests will be able to take advantage of the new trails and play opportunities on the slopes through this interpretive area of Crested Butte’s heritage and mining history.

Colorado Ski Country USA (CSCUSA) resorts have invested heavily during the off-season to greet guests with fresh looks for the upcoming 2013-14 season.
