Sun Peaks is located in the interior of the province and receives on average nearly six metres of light, dry, 'easy-to-ski' powder snow every winter. It’s the second largest ski area in Canada, and frequently shares the ranking of the top two resorts in Canada with neighbouring Whistler, most notably by Snowboard Canada Magazine and the North American Condé Nast Traveler Readers Poll.

The resort offers skiing across three mountains with over 4,270 acres of terrain on long cruisers and bumps, steep slopes as well as off-piste in Alpine bowls. Mount Tod summit is at 2152m (7060ft) and the village at 1255m (4116ft) offering convenient ski-in, ski-out accommodation and a diversity of dining options.

The longest run is nearly 8km (5 miles) and the resort has 12 lifts (three high speed quad chairlifts, two quad chairlifts, one triple chairlift and six surface lifts). Cross country skiers have the choice of almost 40km of groomed and 17km of backcountry trails. The Rockstar Energy Terrain Park is a 10-acre park with distinct zones for all abilities.

Sun Peaks is the only resort in Canada to receive the ISO 14001 designation, recognising the management of the environmental and social impacts by identifying areas for reduction in energy and other resource consumption as well as preventing pollution.
