CRYSTAL SKI HOLIDAYS AND GB SNOWSPORT ANNOUNCE NEW PARTNERSHIP
Crystal Ski Holidays the UK’s leading ski tour operator has announced a new partnership with GB Snowsport teaming up to grow participation in winter sports and provide funding to support programmes and athletes on the road to the 2022 Winter Olympics and beyond.
Crystal will be following GB Snowsport’s alpine athletes through the winter season and in the build up to the British Championships starting in March 2020. Activity will include sharing ambassadors’ stories highlighting the drive, determination and pure talent on show. The ambassadors’ stories will be shared through Crystal’s social media platforms, giving insight into the raw talent these up-and-coming snow sport athletes have.
As one of many partnership initiatives, Crystal will also be awarding five athletes a grant of £1,000 each at the British Championships in Tignes. This money will help fund young athletes training and support the growth of participation in winter sports.
There will also be content created themed around ‘How to Winter’, Crystal’s latest campaign which focuses on targeting and inspiring people who are new to ski to take up the sport. Everyone is different in their lifestyles and holiday preferences and this campaign recognises and talks to the needs of different skiers so everyone can enjoy the mountain.
The partnership also includes a competition to win a ski holiday to Tignes during the Championships, where the winner will get a chance to meet athletes and see them compete.
Chris Logan, Managing Director at Crystal Ski Holidays said: “We are excited to be teaming up with GB Snowsport and look forward to inspiring the next generation. At Crystal we are passionate about wanting to grow the enthusiastic base of skiers and snowboarders in the UK and to support developing winning athletes.
“Learning to ski or snowboard is a real skill and we all have different stories of our experiences. By working with athletes to hear their stories we hope that the next generation will be inspired to take up the sport. We will hopefully be seeing future stars holidaying or competing on the mountain in the coming years.”
Vicky Gosling, Chief Executive Officer of GB Snowsport said: “We are incredibly excited by the partnership we’ve developed with Crystal and are really looking forward to them joining us on our exciting journey. It is important that we all look to the future and I believe that the grants will highlight the positive work we are both are doing to grow participation in winter sports.”
