The film aims to unearth the very best in aerially shot* adventure, outdoor and action sports from climbing, mountain biking, kayaking, skateboarding, skiing, BMXing and snowboarding films as well as BASE and wingsuit flying videos.

The first ever Rise of the DronesFilm Festival was launched in July 2015 and following it success (over 120 entrants from 20 countries, 1 million+ views on videos including 26 different sports), EpicTV and DJI have decided to partner once again to give drone filmmakers the opportunity to shine.

Submissions will be accepted from Wednesday 27^th of April at http://www.epictv.com/competition/video/rise-drones-2016 until Sunday the 19th of June, when an expert panel will review the clips. This panel will include Executive Producer at EpicTVAlan Sim, Manager DJI Studios Europe Ferdinand Wolf and DJI European Marketing Director, Martin Brandenburg, amongst other highly regarded industry figures.

Award categories up for grabs in the Rise of the DronesFilm Festival contest include Best Editing, Best Action, Best Continuous Shot and Best Film. The winner of Best Film will receive a DJI Inspire 1 Pro and €2,000 cash from EpicTV. Other prizes include over €5,000 of Euros in cash and further prizes from DJI.

The festival will conclude with VIP screenings, dates and locations to be announced at a later stage, to be attended by media and industry experts.
