Falls Creek opened without any significant natural snowfall the last four day however have seen over 63cm of snow fall and transform the place.

 

Elsewhere Mt Buller has seen the slopes turn white with upwards of 25cm of fresh, fluffy snow in the past three days, much to the delight of families enjoying the school holidays in the alps.

 

The resort has experienced sub zero temperatures ideal for making snow, which has seen Mt Buller’s extensive snowmaking system fire into action day and night, pumping out thousands of cubic metres of snow to bring the average snow depth in manmade areas to 41cm. Nine lifts are currently operating, with that number set to rise as conditions allow.

After snow all weekend we’ve woken to sunshine today, with absolutely perfect conditions out there for skiers, boarders and those enjoying a play in the snow.

This weekend is chock full of fun, with the popular Cattleman’s Rail Jam event happening on Saturday night, where Australia’s top snowboarders will hit the Cattleman’s rail in the heart of the Village Square. We’ve also got the Frank Freestyle Friday and Burton Girls Ride Day happening on Friday, giving visitors plenty to see and do.

Perisher also saw 6 cm arrive on the 8th of june and the slopes are described as packed powder, with the canons been used to top up snow when conditions allow.
