On January 6th, the heroes of tomorrow will shred in the Vans Penken Park in Mayrhofen. The Groms Open is the perfect place to compare your skills with other young and motivated shred heads and exchange experiences. The winners will get an action helmet cam from Drift Innovation as well as other great prizes from Vans with a value of more then 1,000.- €. Once again, Mani Eder and his team are looking forward to provide you a perfectly shaped park.

Under the direction of head judge Andi Lehmann, coming from Garmisch, big names of the Zillertal snowboard scene like Tom “Beckna” Eberharter will evaluate the newcomers’ and rookies’ spins, grabs and jibs.The competition will be held on the advanced line at Vans Penken Park in three categories: Under 16 Under 18 Girls only All participants will also receive a free and exclusive goodie bag!

On top of that, the winner of each category qualifies for the Shred Down Austrian Masters in Westendorf. There will be valuable points for the World Snowboard Tour, the World Rookie Tour and World Snowboard Federation. The overall winner will receive a ticket to the World Rookie Finals in Ischgl. The riders office will be situated at the bottom station of Horbergbahn, where all riders can get the latest competition information, lift pass and food voucher.
