Holiday in Ischgl and get a free Covid-19 test
Health and hygiene blend with outdoor adventures and high-class cuisine to serve up a reviving summer holiday in the Paznaun valley in the Austrian Tirol.
An online survey launched by Ischgl and its neighbours of Kappl, See and Galtür has given the resorts a confident thumbs up and in return all guests are offered a free C-19 test.
Said Tourist Board chairman Alexander von der Thannen: ‘We are using the crisis as an opportunity to reflect on the developments of the past. We have been fortunate to experience success over the last 20 years and have recorded an increase in guests each year.
‘Our lifestyle image and the exceptional presentation experienced by our guests proved to be a success factor for us. Now it comes down to taking the right steps for the future. One of them is certainly to continue our development towards greater quality.’
The online survey was available to locals, guests and employees, with more than 700 people taking part, including from the UK. More than 90% stated that tourism is of great economic significance offering appealing jobs, providing key facilities and infrastructure and makes a positive contribution to quality of life.
Employees recorded that key factors in their choice of workplace are health and hygiene, good reputation and good pay.
Summer holidaymakers can enjoy a range of outdoor activities plus top notch cuisine while following social distancing and hygiene regulations, safe in the knowledge that Ischgl is already a leader in climate protection. The Silvrettaseilbahn AG cable car company achieved the ClimatePartner ‘Climate Neutral’ certificate this year for reducing CO2 emissions through a variety of measures including using renewable energy.
More than 300 km of hiking routes and 750 km of mountain bike trails await visitors of all ages and levels of fitness. Plus local star chefs will lead hikes to mountain lodges for people to enjoy the specially created summer dishes for the annual Culinary Jakobsweg programme, which follows the tracks of an ancient pilgrims’ path.
The 2 km long twin Skyfly zipline from mountain to village, lake swimming and relaxation in the sun-blessed high mountain Paznaun valley round off the activities available – and there are discounts with the exclusive Silvretta card for guests who stay in the valley.
