In the women’s event, Jamie Anderson confirmed her status as this year’s uncontested Slopestyle champion. Finishing second today was the smiling young American rider Spencer O’Brien. Today’s Slopestyle contest definitely confirmed that women’s events have nothing to envy the guys’.

Anderson put together a score of 96 on her first run but she was able to top this scoring 98 in her second run. This is Anderson's fifth Winter X gold medal to date.

Elsewhere in the contest the British women Jenny Jones and Aimee Fuller performed well coming in a respective 7^th and 9^th. Jenny jones top run scored 79.00 whist Aimee best run was 45.00.

Battling it out for the medals Spencer O'Brien pressed Anderson hard with a run that included a switch backside 540, frontside 700 with a solid grab held all the way, and a nosepress 180 out on the last rail. A great score of 92.66 kept her in second place which she never looked like losing. 

Enni Rükajarvi came in third for a second year running with a run that included backside 540, cab 540 and a 720 for 88 points.

Speaking of her win Anderson said:

"It means so much, I'm so happy to be here with all the girls. I wanted to try to do a 900. I haven't gotten it yet. A little bit more work -- maybe next contest."
