Despite Team GB strong efforts first place in the first heat of the women's slopestyle Qualifier went to Isabel Derungs with a score of 87.50, Torah Bright, Spencer O'Brien and Enni Rukajarvi finished close behind to also take an automatic place in the final.

Isabel Derungs put down an unstoppable run to claim the top spot which included a switch back 5, back 7 and a rodeo. Torah Bright laid down a very stylish switrch back to finish in second. 

Jenny Jones was in fifth and narrowly missed out on an automatic place in the finals with Aimee Fuller finishing in a very respectable 10th position.

"That was so much fun! Will get things a little cleaner, see you in the semis on Sunday!!! PUMPED".

She had the following to say about her runs:

"I definitely didn’t get down what I wanted to get down so I am a little disappointed there.But I see it as a good building block for Sunday’s semi-finals. Riding in front of this big crowd is a completely new experience. I enjoyed every minute and when I didn’t land [my second run] I still continued on and made the most of it. I have had a good day."

They will be both riding again on Sunday to battle it out for a spot in the finals! Both of the Team GB ridershave the ability to step it up on Sunday so we will be watching with baited breath.

Given all eyes were on the safety of the course a few slams were also to be expected but the biggest one of the day had to go to Kjersti Buass after a huge back off the kicker she landed in a painful heap at the bottom of the run out. She limped off but showed just how tough the girls are in the slopestyle event.

Heat two offered four more place in the finals and it was a number of old hands who filled the top spots.Anne Gasser and Jamie Anderson took 1st and 2nd  ins the second qualifier and experience seemed to count. Anna Gasserscored a massive 95.50 with an impressive run including a cab underflip. Anderson held nothing back either with a run including a switch back 5, back 5 and cab 5.
