For its ninth edition, the organisers of the Nendaz Freeride are seeing the big picture. With a junior eventbeing held the week preceding the elite competition and a substantial new communication budget in hand, the Swiss competition is affirming its position as the leading competition on the Freeride World Qualifier tour. 

 

 

For its ninth edition, the Nendaz Freeride is giving pride of place to up-and-coming ski and snowboard freeriders by hosting a round of the now famous Freeride Junior Tour, the freeride "world cup" for the 14-17 age group. The Nendaz Freeride Junior tour will take place on March 6-8, 2015, in Haute Nendaz, bringing together some of the best young athletes in the discipline.

 

It will be followed one week later by its "big sister" event, the well-knownInternational Nendaz Freeride, which is considered the best global stage of the Freeride World Qualifier. For the second year in a row, the event will be broadcast live over the web.

 

This ninth edition of the competition will for the first time benefit from a substantial communication budget which will include international broadcasting of competition images, a poster campaign throughout the French-speaking Switzerland and a string of media partnerships. In the words of Francis Dumas, president of the Nendaz municipality: This event is the highlight of our winter season and brings international visibility to the station. We are particularly proud to have been associated with it for many years.

The competition has a reputation for quality that stretches far beyond the borders of Valais canton. It also centres on safety and accident prevention, both of which we consider fundamental for freeriding to remain a safe sport.
