UK Snowboarders show early season form!
With last weekend kicking off the start of the winter season for several of our Snowboarders there was plenty to be happy about in the British Ski and Snowboard Camp.
At the O’Neill Pleasure Jam, a World Snowboard Tour slopestyle contest, held on the Dachstein Glacier in Austria, there were world class performances from Sochi star Aimee Fuller in the Women’s contest finishing 5th, and from young up-coming rider Rowan Coultas who finished 6th in the Men’s Contest.
17-year-old Rowan Coultas qualified first in his heat on Friday, meaning he progressed into the Superfinal, up against seven of the World’s best riders. Against such hot competition, Rowan did well to finish in sixth place, a good indication of his bright future. For Aimee Fuller, she did a great job of finishing in 5th place – a solid start to the season.
Over in Japan, Jamie Nicholls was competing in the Burton Rail Days in Tokyo where there was big prize money up for grabs! With very solid riding from Nicholls and tough competition, Jamie finished in a fantastic 4th place, just missing out on a podium spot, with Canadian Zach Aller taking the top spot.
