Coming off the best season in the resort’s 19 year history, Whitetail Resort is currently gearing up for what will be a very busy off-season on the mountain.

Over $4 million dollars will go into improving the resort over the summer months. These improvements include; a new 1,800 foot beginner trail, additional snowmaking capacity, upgrades to the Marketplace dining area, a new Prinoth BR350 Snow Groomer, and a new golfer friendly clubhouse at Whitetail Golf Resort. These exciting improvements will keep crews busy working into the fall to prepare for the 2010 – 11 ski and snowboard season and beyond.

Atop the list of capital improvements for the upcoming season, is the cutting of a new beginner trail, Ledgewood, adjacent to the existing Snow Park trail. This 1,800 foot long trail be yet another addition to Whitetail Resort’s already expansive beginner terrain, and it will also serve as additional teaching terrain for the ski and snowboard school.

Whitetail Resort will then continue investing in the most energy efficient snowmaking equipment available by adding 15 brand new Techno-Alpin fan guns to the new Ledgewood trail. This investment in quality and energy efficient snowmaking equipment will allow Whitetail to make plenty of snow when cold temperatures arrive this winter.

A new Prinoth BR350 will also be added to the resort’s expansive fleet of snow groomers to ensure, while skiers and snowboarders are tucked away at night, the resort’s expert trail grooming crew will have the mountain in perfect condition each morning.
