World Cup to kick off in Montafon again
Although last year's opening of the snowboard cross World Cup tour had to be cancelled due to the lack of snow, FIS and Local Organisers are confident to host another action-packed kick-off next December. This time as a double event.
For the first time in history, not only snowboarders will race down a European purpose-built course on the Seebliga/Hochjoch but also the ski cross specialists who will debut in the most southern valley of Vorarlberg on December 5th.
Only one week later and with adjustments undertaken according to the special needs of the snowboard cross athletes, one single and one team race is scheduled for December 11th till 13th.
“We had some great meetings in Montafon already. Local Organisers are fully motivated and have some great sponsors backing them up. I guess we can look forward to a great race week”, said FIS Snowboard Race Director Uwe Beier.
Like the last four years, open air concerts will round out the event making the World Cup opener in Montafon the perfect mix of sport in the mountains and party in the valley again.
