Cadrona, great variety of everything

Thu 15 August 2013 by Natura

Travelled with a group of boarders from beginners to intermediate, really enjoyed cardrona, a lot of things to do, from cruising down footrot flats, from trying out the massive variety of different park and like the previous poster mentioned pipe options.

We went Aug13, and conditions were perfect, a lot of little hits here and there as well for the all mountain rider looking to get a bit of air and tricks going, I can't remember which run it was, but there's an awesome little snake pipe course where you can just gun it or begin practicing your pipe skills.

Only cons was that it was not exactly hugely beginner friendly, but at least it had a lot of green runs that they could test their skills on. Our group really enjoyed Cadrona of the three mountains we visited (Cadrona, Remarkables and Treble Cone)

Pipes, pipes, pipes....

Cardrona is all about park and pipe. Sure, there's good terrain to be had in the back bowls, but on a freshies day, you really want to be at Treble Cone. There are 4 pipes at Cardies. 2 are superpipes, the other 2 are of standard size. One is set aside for camps full time. The park this year saw muchos effort on the part of the shapers, as the Nationals were held there. There are some monster rails and kickers and an awesome boardercross course. It's a great place to do a season, but if you have the cash, get a TC pass aswell.
